Proposed a new generation of distributed network control system structure based on the high-speed Ethernet for Plant Automation (EPA) technology; developed 10 EPA-based key technologies, including deterministic real-time communication, redundant fieldbus power supply and safe field equipments, etc.; developed the first international standard for the industrial automation with independent IPR in China; designed dedicated chips, instruments and control systems for the EPA series, which were widely used in the process industrial enterprises. The development in this area laid a firm foundation for promoting China's industrial automation instrumentation industry to the next generation. In 2006, the EPA chip was awarded the 1st class Scientific Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province. In 2009, “the new generation high performance fieldbus for control systems –EPA” was awarded the 2nd class national award for technological invention.
